August 3rd - Fastgrass Bluegrass Festival, Lowes Motor Speedway, Concord N.C. Dark Corner became a reality after four guys came together with the common interest of playing quality traditional and contemporary bluegrass music. Also driving them is the desire to preserve an art form that is a tradition here in the foothills of South Carolina. Members of the talented group include Eddie Arledge on banjo also doing baritone vocals. He resides in Pickens S.C. Bass Fiddle responsibilities are handled by Mr. Donnie Poole along with additional harmony vocals. Donnie resides in the Blue Ridge community of upstate South Carolina. Mr. Norman Humphries handles all the lead guitar responsibilities along with lead and harmony vocals. Norman also resides in the Blue Ridge community of upstate South Carolina. Rounding out the group, playing the mandolin and also singing lead and tenor vocals is Mr. Greg Holder of Pickens S.C. Duet, single and trios are included among Dark Corners wide range of song offerings. Their performances pay tribute to several styles of music in addition to bluegrass, such as old time country, rock and gospel. Collectively the four band members that represent Dark Corner Bluegrass have numerous years of experience. Their work has them fronting for professional entertainers, performing at major bluegrass festivals as well as local and private functions. They are at home playing either traditional bluegrass or the contemporary sound. Dark Corner is a member of the South Carolina Bluegrass and Traditional Music Association. Their accomplishments include three CD’s. Their latest project is entitled “Lonesome Pine” which has been aired on WNCW radio out of Spendale N.C. The band also participated in a project released thru the S.C. Bluegrass and Traditional Music Association which can be purchased on AMAZON.com. In addition, Dark Corner has worked with the S.C. Heritage Corridor to produce and preserve the music of the upstate sector thru the lower sector of South Carolina and also preformed for the S.C. Botanical Gardens and Arts Council fall series festival for three years straight. Dark Corner will put on a versatile show that you and your whole family will enjoy.
